Setup guide

Smart SlideCart Documentation

This guide explains how to configure Smart SlideCart from the Shopify admin — from Cart Builder and offers to the theme app extension and billing.

1. App Dashboard

After installing the app, open Smart SlideCart from Apps in your Shopify admin. The dashboard shows key metrics for the slide cart and quick access to Cart Builder, offers, analytics, settings, and billing. Use the left navigation (or Cart Builder’s module menu) to configure each feature.

2. Cart Builder

Cart Builder is the main place to design and enable the slide cart drawer. Turn the slide cart on, arrange layout modules, set colors and footer behavior, and preview changes before they go live on the storefront.

Some modules and custom code options require Growth or Professional. If a control is locked, open Billing / Pricing to upgrade.

3. Free shipping bar

Set a free shipping threshold so the drawer shows a progress bar toward the goal. As the cart total increases, shoppers see how much more they need to spend to unlock free shipping. Available on Starter and higher.

4. Rewards ladder

Configure tiered rewards that unlock as cart value grows (for example discounts or gifts at certain thresholds). Pair rewards with the free shipping bar to give shoppers clear reasons to add more items before checkout.

5. Upsells & cross-sells

Create upsell offers and cross-sell product sources that appear in the cart drawer. These modules help raise average order value by recommending complementary or higher-value products at the moment of purchase. Upsells, cross-sells, and add-ons are included on Growth and Professional (and unlocked on Development stores).

6. Free gifts, discounts & add-ons

Use free gift campaigns to reward cart totals or specific conditions. Discount rules can work with Shopify Functions where configured. Add-ons such as gift wrap or shipping insurance can be offered as optional line items in the drawer.

7. Announcements & templates

Announcement bars highlight promos inside or around the cart experience. Industry templates speed up first-time setup by applying a ready-made drawer layout you can customize in Cart Builder.

8. Analytics

Open Analytics to review cart performance and export reports (CSV) for offline analysis. Use these insights to tune thresholds, offers, and which modules you keep visible in the drawer.

9. Settings

Settings cover locale, markets, and performance options (including caching). Keep custom JavaScript on the drawer minimal, prefer lazy-loaded offer images, and enable caching when available for a faster storefront experience.

10. Theme App Extension

Smart SlideCart uses a Theme App Extension for Online Store 2.0 themes:

  1. Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize
  2. Open App embeds and enable Smart SlideCart
  3. Save the theme
  4. Optionally add app blocks (Slide Cart, Sticky Cart, progress, announcements, upsells, and similar)

Storefront config is loaded through the app proxy path /apps/slidecart. After enabling the embed, click the cart icon on the storefront to confirm the drawer opens.

Tested patterns work with Dawn, Impulse, Prestige, Refresh, Warehouse, Motion, Empire, Flex, Sense, Symmetry, Turbo, and similar OS 2.0 themes.

11. Billing

Choose a plan under Billing. Plans are based on monthly order volume and unlock features such as sticky cart, upsells, and custom HTML. See the Pricing page for Starter, Growth, and Professional details. Development stores can use the free Development plan with all features unlocked.
