What is Smart Bundle?
Smart Bundle is a Shopify app that helps merchants create product bundles with percentage or fixed discounts, assign them with product metafields, and show them on product pages, the homepage, or custom landing pages.
How many products can I add to one bundle?
Each bundle group supports up to 5 products. You can set a quantity for each product and drag products to change the order shown in the widget.
How are bundles assigned to products?
Bundles are assigned with the product metafield smart_bundle.bundle_group, which stores the Bundle Group ID. Set that metafield on each product page in Shopify admin, or use products already added on the Bundle products tab (they are linked automatically on publish).
What discount types are supported?
You can enable a bundle-level discount as a percentage or a fixed amount. Optionally set a minimum products required, a maximum discount limit, and show a savings badge on the storefront widget.
Where can the bundle appear on my store?
Under Display location you can enable Product page, Show on Homepage, and/or Custom page / landing pages. Checking a location only allows the bundle there — you still need the matching theme block, app embed, or metafield assignment before it shows live.
What is the difference between the App Block and Smart Bundle (Auto)?
The product App Block places the widget in a chosen section of the product template. Smart Bundle (Auto) is an App embed that can inject the widget automatically. Use either the App Block or the auto-embed — not both — so only one widget is shown.
What widget layouts are available?
Smart Bundle includes Full Width Bundle Builder and Compact Bundle List layouts. You can also set colors, typography, spacing, copy, and which elements appear (images, prices, savings, quantity selector, progress message, and more) from Widget Settings.
What happens if a product belongs to more than one bundle group?
Assignment priority decides the winner. A lower number wins when the same product is assigned to multiple bundle groups.
Can I bulk enable, disable, or delete bundles on the Free plan?
No. Bulk enable, disable, or delete requires the Developer, Growth, or Professional plan. The Free plan supports single-bundle edits only.
Does Smart Bundle work with Online Store 2.0 themes?
Yes. Smart Bundle uses a Theme App Extension with App Blocks and App embeds for Online Store 2.0 themes. No manual Liquid edits are required for standard setup.
The widget does not appear on my product page. What should I check?
  • Confirm the bundle group is Active and Enable bundle display is on.
  • Confirm Product page is enabled under Display location.
  • Set smart_bundle.bundle_group to this bundle’s ID on the product.
  • Enable Smart Bundle (Auto) under App embeds, or add the Smart Bundle Widget block, then Save the theme.
  • Make sure you are not using both the App Block and the auto-embed at the same time.
