Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about installation, CSV mapping, imports, exports, billing, and common issues.
Getting started
It helps Shopify merchants import and export product and variant metafields using CSV files, with column mapping, job history, and optional inventory updates.
Merchants, ops teams, and agencies that manage large catalogs with custom metafields—especially when Admin-by-Admin edits are too slow.
Install from the Shopify App Store, approve the requested permissions, then open the app from Shopify Admin. See the Tutorial for screenshots and steps.
The app requests product and inventory related scopes so it can read/write product data, metafields, and inventory quantities required for import workflows.
Import & export
You can match by product handle, product ID, or SKU depending on your configuration. Variant rows can use SKU or variant identifiers as configured in settings.
Yes. Map columns to product-level and variant-level metafields in the same wide CSV workflow, based on your mapping setup.
Use UTF-8 CSV with a header row. Keep one product/variant identifier column, then one column per mapped metafield. Templates are available in the app for common table-style data.
Yes. Export all products or filter by collection, vendor, product type, tags, or a selected set of products.
Yes. Multi-row table data (for example ingredients or specs) can be grouped into JSON list structures suitable for list/object metafield patterns used by themes and apps.
Failed and skipped rows are tracked in the job summary. You can download an error log, fix the CSV, and re-run only the needed rows.
Plans & billing
Yes. A Free plan lets you try core import features with a limited product import allowance. Paid plans increase limits and unlock advanced options.
Yes. Yearly billing is discounted compared with paying monthly—currently about 17% savings. Exact pricing is shown in the app billing page.
Each plan includes a product import allowance. The app shows remaining usage so you know when to upgrade before a large job.
Troubleshooting
Usually the match key does not resolve a product (wrong handle/SKU), required columns are empty, or the metafield type does not accept the provided value.
Refresh the Admin page and reopen the app. If you are on a development store with a temporary tunnel, confirm the app preview session is still running. Contact support if the issue persists on the published app.
